Some Special Thanksgiving Events

If youll be spending the Thanksgiving holiday in the area youll quickly come to realize theres no better place to kneel down and give thanks than in front of the beautiful blue Atlantic Ocean. It has a certain way of putting things into perspective for all of us.While everyone seems to be arguing on whether or not stores should be open on Thanksgiving and who is going where and when on Black Friday, you can just kick back at waters edge, or on your balcony in a lounge chair, and just be grateful for the things that really matter - family and friends. Theres no more beautiful place to give those thanks than right here along the coast in South Carolina. So why not make the most of it while youre here! Some Special Thanksgiving EventsThe annual Myrtle Beach Turkey Trot will be held on Thanksgiving morning and features an 8K, 5K, 1 mile and a free Kids Tot Trot this year. The trots all start and end at Valor Park at The Market. Packet pickup will be on Wednesday, Nov. 25 between 4-7 p.m. at Valor Park or the day of the Trot between 6:30-7:50 a.m.â?¨Over 1,200 runners follow the course as it winds through The Market Common and the former historic Air Force Base. There will be Bojangles Biscuits and chocolate milk provided to all runners. The 8K and 5K Races start at 8 a.m. The 1-mile race starts at 9 a.m. and the Kids Race begins prior to Awards Ceremony. For more information, visit myrtlebeachturkeytrot.com Some Special Thanksgiving EventsThe 46th Annual South Carolina State Bluegrass Festival takes place at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center from November 26-28, 2015. If youre in the area and you enjoy blue grass music you wont want to miss this special event. This is an indoor festival with floor and elevated seating. Both reserved and general admission seating is available. General admission ticket prices are Adult $40 per day or $90 for 3 days, Children (7-15) $20 per day or $45 for 3 days. Children under 7 are admitted free with adult. Reserved ticket prices vary. Parking Fee: $5.00 Daily.
